Here's a bit more about the tracks on the CD…
1. Juke Box of your Heart - A nice bouncy track written by Jim Reilly an old friend of Slim’s and leader of that great band "Hackney-5-0". Paul betrays his Ska roots, skanking away on both electric and acoustic Rhythm Guitar.
2. Alone with You (Drusky/Vanadore/Young) - Dead straight old style Country Swing. A Faron Young song, sung by Chrissie, duetting with herself.
3. (Is it Love or) Food Poisoning - Written by Slim, during his "Toilet Humour" phase which he has thankfully now grown out of.
4. Sweet Sweet Kisses - RockaBilly/Swing. Written by Chrissie - listen for the "Whoo" that follows the line "Take me by Surprise" - the "Carry On Film" influence protruding.
5. Paranoid (Osborne/Iommi/Butler/Ward) - Yes, the Black Sabbath classic - exposes the mis-
spent youth of the male members of the band. Live, the song is performed "Full-on Metal", but there didn’t seem much point in recording it like that, as it couldn’t possibly compete with the original, so we gave it the Hill-Billy treatment instead with Jim’s mandolin to the fore.
6. I fell in love - written by Dorsey Burnett and sung beautifully by Chrissie.
7. Misery - All the way from Austin, Texas - written by the great Wayne Hancock and High Noon’s front man Sean Young. Slim anglicised the lyric from "Serving Time" to "Doing Time".
8. Easy Beat (Barry)- Jeff takes us back to his earliest memories of learning the guitar with a track made famous by Bert Weedon - features our Producer, Boz on Sax and Rhythm Guitar.
9. Alright Baby (D.Glasser) - Chrissie is definitely "Alright Baby" on this Janis Martin song.
10. My Baby, She’s as Fat as Me - Written for Slim, years ago by our producer, Boz, who adds a dash of dixieland with his Clarinet.
11. Little Mixed Up - Chrissie rocks out on this Betty James Song.
12. Perfect Woman - Again written by Slim with a nod towards the piano of Professor Longhair and classic "Inadequacy" lyrics.
13. Peeping through the Keyhole - Chrissie and her harmonies run riot on this Stan Freburg ditty about dancing (or is it?)
14. Drink up thee Cyder - National Anthem of the Somerset Freedom Fighters, Theme Song of the Cyder Co, written by the Bard of the West Country, Adge Cutler. (Before you all write in, Slim didn’t realise that he’d missed a verse until we came to mix the track)
15. Walk don’t Run (J.Smith)- Venturing into Surf Accordion territory- Slim can be regularly seen surfing down to the Anchor & Hope, on the River Lee which runs past his home.
16. My Mind’s got a Mind of its Own - Written by Slim’s good friend Butch Hancock. The only song of Butch’s that Slim could find with no Americanisms and therefore could be sung in an English Accent.
17. I’ll Never Be Free (B.Benjamin/G.Weiss)- Chrissie’s beautiful reading of this Tennessee Ernie Ford song featuring a shimmering guitar intro from Andy Neil.
18. Just Like Eddie (Goddard)- Jeff used to be involved in the Joe Meek Appreciation Society which prompted the inclusion of Joe and Heinz’s tribute to Eddie Cochran.
